... The Moulin Rouge is slap bang in the middle of the red light district. Once outside, I had very few problems, due to the extreme number of tourists. I started lining up at 6.15pm for my 7pm dinner. It was a good thing too, as the seating is on a first come, first served basis even if you have pre booked. ... I'm afraid to leave my little sanctuary under the eaves... The stairwell. I had noticed yesterday that the owner of the apartment pushed little button on the wall before our ascent. There was a little flutter of hope that maybe there actually was an elevator that had been out of service at the time when I was informed of the 99 steps that waited to welcome me and my belongings on our arrival to Paris.
