So sadly, we had our last breakfast on the balcony of our villa and watched the sun come up! The sun rises around 7.40am on the island. We closed all the shutters and locked up the house. The boys were waiting outside for us. We loaded the cases into the little Fiat and headed off to the ferry. When we arrived there was a huge line up of cars , I was wondering how they would all fit on, until I saw three really big buses and a truck come off. Andy was finding it very hard to ...

We met Sue and Michael and Marco at Avra for a lovely Greek meal. Marky had roast octopus and I had moussaka it was nearly as good as mums!!!! We waddled up the cobbled path and hit the sack. Early morning pick up tomorrow with the boys to catch the ...

Marky and I then went to the beach. We met some lovely Brits, Claire and Tim and had lunch with them. A Greek man who knew we had a Greek connection to the local village, shouted us a bottle if Ouzo!! Marky and Tim loved it. Three glasses of that stuff ...

Odysseus, my Bronze-age hero and his men had a tough time getting back to their home, Ithaca. Here is how that went; some men get killed by a god, some men are eaten by a one-eyed giant, the crew gets drugged up, Odysseus visits Hades (hell), some crew are eaten by a monster, Odysseus is held as prisoner by a demi-god. He starts off with 12 boats of 40 men ...

Mesmerised by the ancient turtles in the harbour.

We arrived in the port by hire car, which we hired for the last two days to visit further afield than our hire scooter would allow. We found free parking around the ferry boat area and made our way looking for the turtles. We asked a waitress where we could see them and she replied with a swish of her arm, that we could see them anywhere in the harbor. We stared ...
