Arrived in Lake Como and honestly there are not enough adjectives to describe this scenery - snow capped mountains just sinking into the lake, clusters of villages all along the foreshore.
After 45 minutes we are still driving beside this lake to our accommodation at Gravedona at the top of Lake Como and the never ending beautiful scenery …
... up the village from the lake. To get anywhere in the village means using the village tracks - translation goat track (if you are lucky). These tracks I are rough - cobblestones or bare earth, and tend to be very steep with lots of steps. We decided to walk up to the piazza and other shops then go to see the castle. From the Tre. ... later! Love those direct trains! A short taxi ride and we were at our B & B Resiidence Cavour, about a block from lake front. We were met by our host Moione who checked us in, showed us our room, the residence amenities, explained a few sights to see around Lake Como and places to eat. The rest of the afternoon was spent exploring this beautiful area which we've heard so much about through the media. Now that we're here, it's as beautiful and inspiring as we envisioned it! ...
