          Hi everyone,

So I am now half way through my one week stay in San Diego and thoroughly enjoying my time.

On Saturday evening Kate, her friend Jess and I drove down to Seaport village, a beautiful little tourist area by the water with plenty of little shops and attractions. We bought enough salt-water taffy to feed a small army (in flavours that included 'buttered popcorn' and 'molasses') and had a lovely dinner before attempting to find our way home ...

A great day to wave a stick at the sea

... were prancing along the sea shore. One wave a seaweedy stick at the distance, there are some great characters in the cities. The bar we went to was full and lovely, and we went specifically for San Diego's trademark food - the fish taco! I had two which were fantastic, one of which had shark in which I would highly recommend :)

The next day Ben and I went to the beach. We spent most of our time looking for sand crabs, however they were harder ...

... the food, the drink, and again the people. My first impression after crossing from Mexicali, MX into Calexico, USA was I just went from technicolor to black and white. The impression continued after my first two days in the States. Yes it's much cleaner, more organized, the streets have shoulders and no potholes. But I miss the chaos, the feeling that anything can happen, todo ...

... to try and get some rest on the drive in now but it's so pretty I don't want to miss a thing!

I love America- LA is still a highlight for me but everything has been great and I'm loving our trip! All the many hours I spent planning, booking and decision making has been totally worth it so far!

I may never return to be honest haha

          Stay classy San Diego,

          Simone ...

... spend all day here but we only had a hour so a bit of a whistle stop tour I'm afraid. We did visit the flower house though, shaped like Kew house but made out of wood. Next it was onto Seaport Village for lunch, real hot dog and fries later and a quick trip around the shops and stalls. After this we cross the bridge over to the city of Coronado, home of the hotel Del Coronado hotel, this is the hotel where Edward who was the current Prince of Wales at that time met ...
