      Another fine breakfast. Scrambled egg juice to ea good bread and salad Tram to Centrale stn (1.50) then Frecciarossa high speed train to Bologna. 40€ plus 3.50booking fee. Great train - smooth and stable at 280kph. 1 hr trip. Very flat farmland with old brick 2 story farmhouses. Mainly veg and grapes and couple chook/pig sheds.       ... though they had spent the night there - wrapped in blankets. There was also a statue of a tiger killing a camel - it was under restoration so I couldn't find a plaque - but I did think it was a little bit odd. The park detour was good as there was a massive protest occurring up the street the hotel is on.       ... free people today wearing laurel wreaths - and all very cheery! I happened to pass by the same cafe I had breaky at later in the afternoon and they offer a huge buffet lunch menu - the place was packed - there were no chairs or tables available. Good sign that it is good value and good food. I visited a number of sights today - started with the cathedral of San Pietro.       ... You move from room to room learning about Bologna chronologically. My only gripe is that the building and displays are a bit slick and sterile. Some rooms have mirrors that are disorienting. Many of the items displayed are replicas. I did get the sense that Bologna is the overshadowed little sister of Florence.
