... attempted to get costumes the day before at the main railway station but we couldn't find any that fit (big boobs and calves – you can decide which applies to whom), so our aim was to find a cool hat as a substitute so we felt like we were making an effort..getting into the spirit I guess you could say. After beautifying ourselves in the camp ground toilets, we headed into the Topdeck food tent to get our breaky...our stamina for the morning...or at least the lining on ...

A sea of lederhosens and dirndls accompanied by massive beer steins I fully expected when we entered the doors to the first Oktoberfest beer tent. "La Bamba" blasting from the polka band at center stage, on the other hand, I did not see coming. Adam and I stood in the doorway for a few minutes to take in the scene of the festival we had so long heard about. We couldn't believe the long picnic tables could withstand the crowds of 330-pound men dancing to the theme song ...

... and souvenier shopping before meeting up with cousin Deimut. We enjoyed a wonderful meal together and were gven some gifts to take home for Omi and the children. Was nice to have met up with Deimut for a second occassion.
Back home by train. I did a final repack and Cheryl tried to help Andrea with some computer issues - sound tracks, I Tunes etc.
Quiet drinks at home and to bed before the long haul home. Big few days including 20hrs of flying time ahead of us.
