Big buffet breakfast at Ramada hotel. Got in the Stang, drove to Biltmore Estate, claims to be America's biggest house. We drove around the neighbouring housing estate trying to get a look in at the estate. Found the entrance eventually, entering the estate we were ordered to buy tickets first at a cost of $56 each. Screw that. So we drove back onto Blue Ridge Parkway ...

In the back under the old staircase there are a few gambling machines for 21 yrs and older. It is roped off. The casino is down the street so this is a gambling town. The machines are Slots (of course) in the adjoining room is some additional tables, TVs and pool tables. It is a really large and nice area to eat and enjoy your family and friends.

But anyway, rant over, after a nap ...

Next stop is our daughter's home in Thompson's Station, Tennessee. Getting very excited to see them. I bet the kids have grown. Nate is a Senior, Zach's a sophomore and Sara Grace is in the 7th grade. The longest time I have gone without seeing them is a month. It's truly hard to believe we've been gone 6 months. I know I will cry when I see ...

    Day-70 Nashville to Lafayette, Indiana

A travel blog entry by tessacat on Aug 18, 2013

We spent most of today driving from Nashville to Lafayette .... all up about 5 hrs driving.
We are now about 2 hours outside of Chicago.

Its a known fact David does not like my driving skills, for the little amount of driving I did do today, by the time we switched drivers, I'm not sure which of us was the most stressed!!!

We didn't arrive at the hotel until after 6 pm and we just relaxed and looked online for accommodation in Chicago for the next couple of ...
