... away was Hamilon, Mo which was home to JC Penny and the next town of Cameron which was home to Walter Cronkite. Many celebrities seem to have started their early life along 36 Hwy in Mossouri. ... the hammock and had a fire by the water. It was our best find so far. And this morning we each got to take a shower (for the first time since Sunday) using the super solar powered shower! Which worked great. We were up by 7:30 to go for a walk and then breakfast and tear down and we're on our way to find a place to stay in Colorado! I'm a fan of Priceline for hotel booking but it led us astray this time. If you ever find yourself in Junction City KS please stay away from the Great Western Inn. There is nothing great about it. I can live with decor out of the 1970s but I can't deal with dirt and scum from the 1970s. I don't have terribly high standards for hotels but this one was disgusting. The inside of ...

My fearless leader who took the wheel after we left Topeka didn't check the gas gauge. We made it to Manhattan with about 2 miles to spare (according to the truck). We spent a lot of time "nursing it" and coasted down a 2 mile hill which probably saved us. Once we got to the gas station we messed around for about 2 minutes because dad didn't know if the guy at the pump was leaving or not. We are back on the road now and have about 30 minutes until we get to the hotel.
