Betty and Phil weren't home.
... in going through a working palace where the (figure)head of state actually lives. You know, like maybe you could accidentally go through an unmarked door and surprise the Queen in her curlers with a cup of tea and doing a crossword. Or maybe a corgi would come waddling through the crowd. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The closest we got to seeing royalty was the wonderful (and in some cases quite old) portraits on the walls and the marble busts. It was exciting to see in ...
Tired of Travelling
The next day ended up being an early start. We were driven from Paris to Calais by Coach and then we took the ferry across the English Channel to Dover. Day 4: Portobello Market and the London Eye
On Friday we went to the Portobello Road Market, in the Notting Hill Area. We got there early which was definitely good because on our walk back to the tube station it was wall to wall with people. The market was great, and filled with a large variety of items.
First was the antique section (which was HUGE!), then came the food, music, clothing, second hand clothing, and more food. There were also street ...
