So much fun...

Down Under and Up Above

No little arms reaching for my face and no cries of hunger to wake up to. It's a good start to my day. In fact, getting up past 8 o'clock is quite a treat for me, even on vacation. Today, the goal is to do some water activities while we can and still savor doing nada on the beach and at the pool.

Last night we had fun swimming at night …

Geez, I've been wanting to come here since my last visit to the Philippines in 2003, and finally, I made it. I even brought along my husband and NO KIDS! Woo-hoo! Boracay is about an hour flight from Manila on a small jet plane. The closest airport (and slightly more expensive to fly into) is Caticlan, which might have the smallest baggage claim I' …

Made it to Boracay!

A travel blog entry by dogstar

Ok so we made it to Boracay after what seemed like a long journey. We got up at 4am to catch our plane and ended up being really early so we were waiting at the airport for almost 2 hours. Then we got on our plane for our 45 min flight which was nice and short. Then we had to catch a shuttle van to Boracay after we landed in Kalibo which was a 2 …

Well made it to Boracay ok and was starting to feel better by the 2nd day there.
Hotel was very nice and White Beach certainly lived up to it's name. It was fantastic and we did absolutly nothing whilst there apart from swimming and building sand castles on the beach. It was great! Didn't even go divng, inquired but that was as far as I got.< …

    LIke Heaven

    from

Although this hotel was quite pricey compared to the others on the island, it was well worth it. The rooms were clean, cool and well equipped. The beach was only a few steps away, d'mall was only a couple of minutes down the beach, and the breakfast was excellent. The best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel...true filipino breakfast! The staff was very friendly and had always greeted us upon entry into the hotel. I don't think I'll ever book another hotel on the island.

Warning: not 5 star nor a Triple AAA hotel

    from

My family stayed in Boracay Regency given that there weren't too many options to choose from during the Easter weekend. The other option was Boracay tropics. All the best hotels in Station 1 were fully booked. Anyway, we decided to book ourselves a weekend in this hotel hoping that this was going to be like the hotels in station 1 and given that the preceding reviews showed very strong recoms. As background, I have been coming to this island since the mid-80s and have stayed in quite a number of the hotels in station 1. Things you should know about this hotel:

    Ok rooms, indifferent/arrogant staff

    from

    ROOMS

The rooms are OK. One of the best in the island, if you're into concrete structures and not nipa/native huts.

    EXTRA CHARGES

All the signs in the room always include the phrase, "OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY", and YOU WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY!!! Henna stains on bath mats, lacking face towels--which are always not the guest's fault...YES!!! YOU WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY!!!

    STAFF

I dread the front desk of this hotel. Honestly, I have never been to their front desk where there wasn't at least one guest complaining or arguing with their arrogant receptionists.

The very best hotel in the Island

    from

Me & my husband stayed in Boracay Regency last christmas for a week. We were amazed upon arriving, didn't know boracay has this kind of a hotel. Everywhere I go, areas are clean, even the beach. The hotel is situated in the best area of the long stretch of white beach, it has the widest beach front in the whole island. You can just laze there the whole day without being pestered by anyone. We really felt safe there during our stay.

    Fantastic!!!

    from

great hotel..food is good and at affordable prices..great facade and most of all clean...it's in station 2, so accessibility to bars and other resorts is really good..

    Love Paradise

    from

Sand is white powder. Food is the best. Service is Great. Safe place to be.

Nice hotel, shame about the staff

    from

A rude young woman named Donna checked us in after somehow misunderstanding "we have a reservation" as "do you have any rooms available?". 15 minutes later we found our room alone carrying our own bags. A bad start.

    Busy, busy Boracay Regency

    from

Stayed at the Regency twice (4D/3N in Dec 04, then 7D/6N in Feb.05). I've mixed feelings about it, so you'll read mixed reviews here.
