... Gaudí’s work was greatly inspired by nature, which he believed was perfect. This was very clear through the architecture of the church. For example, the columns mirror tree trunks, that split into branches, followed by a ceiling of leaves. The vast building was incredibly modern and very intricately designed. The weather here in Barcelona has been exponentially better than the weather in Alicante. Still, it has not be the Southern Spain holiday that one typically imagines.

... we quite fancies seeing but they were not due on stage until 03:00 and Tony had a flight to catch in the morning because of work commitments so we returned to the city centre, saying our farewells because we were getting off at different stations. When JD & CC emerged from the Passeig de Gracia metro stop it was raining quite hard. Fortunately there were plenty of taxis about for the short trip to Barcelo Raval, but we were pleased we hadn’t stayed at Forum longer.
