... glass windows in many different colours, also giving the feeling, in some parts, of lighting through a canopy of trees. I hope we can see it again.

The rest of the day involved eating (notably tapas and crème catalan) drinking, and sight seeing, including some more of Gaudi’s works around the city. His stamp is everywhere and the city and its inhabitants take great pride in his designs which permeate the artistic nature of Barcelona.

"Thank You, the Earth!"

... and happiness.

It was intriguing to see the contrasts embedded in Nat's way of life. Here he is transforming an arid landscape into a food-producing oasis and trying to create a tightly-knit community. Yet, he believes that food consumption is not to be a shared undertaking. Why would a communal effort to grow food not continue through the preparation and consumption fazes? Why would you not want to share in the joy of harvest by cooking and eating what you grew?

Visits from the Family!!

It is has been quite a long time since I have updated!!! So much has happened and I have seen a lot of cool places. My parents came over to visit from April 3rd to April 11th. Then Dano, my brother, came over to visit from April 12th to April 19th. They were absolutely wonderful trips. I met my parents in Copenhagen, Denmark on Friday the 3rd and we stayed there for two nights. I had been to Copenhagen before so I had ...

Curse you, wind!!

... rather ordinary. It's obvious that I was running out of sight seeing spots! The only thing worth mentioning is the sculpture that I wanted to see in the first park which had roused my curiosity: the drowning woman. When I found it, I almost laughed out loud; there she was, face down on a block like a corpse floating on water... minus the water! I assume that due to the prolonged drought, the water in the park had been drained, and with it the magic of ...

Barcelona..."I know you understand me!"

... brochures and free maps! Once we had a sufficient amount of information and a fairly decent idea of what direction we should head in we departed to the INOUT Hostel. Our first shock came as we walked out of the train station. There was a huge protest going on in the very center of Barcelona. There were people for as far as the eye could see with banners, signs and Spanish flags. They were screaming the phrase "Together we are ...

mmmmm...Burger King

I woke up around 2PM. All my travel mates are now gone and I´m now all alone. It´s my third day here and I still haven´t done any of the touristy things. And honestly, I really don´t have the motivation either. I still got up and armed with my camera, I set off to the streets of Barcelona. This city is really buzzing. People everywhere. Spanish ...

The Secrets of Mount Montjuic

... stairs on either side of the Palau Nacional where in the middle lay another great fountain. Turns out that the Palace was also a product of the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona. I wondered how much time they needed to finish this vast building in time for the Exposition. Today it homes the largest collection of Catalan art in the world, starting with Romanesque going all the way to Modern Art. We just had to go have a look ...

Beautiful Barcelona

... is surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, which means they cannot expand their city outwards anymore, they have to expand up. When we got to our hotel it was awesome! The weather was very nice and our hotel was wicked. It was a 4 star hotel and our rooms were awesome. The city itself though was the beautiful! After dropping off our luggage in our rooms we went and did the bus tour which took us to the top of a mountain where there was a beautiful little water fall ...

Colomb, Dospordios y Yo... L'Intégrole

... Ouais.
