It was strange I had come to Hinase believing that I was going to stay for one week max. I am now leaving after almost a month here! It was hard to bring myself to leave, the hosts were great, the food was amazing, the scenery stunning, the work easy and the other WWOOFers were just great fun. So the day after going to Onomichi Makoto tells us we are going to his parents house in kyoto, I'm happy with that, good chance to see some authentic culture, what he forgot to tell us was that ...

Tomorrow I will explore Hiroshima and in particular the peace memorial ...

11/2 Stage 63 Saijo to Hayashima km 145

After a short stint to Shikoku Island, I am back to Honshu in Hayashima.
The planned crossing of the mountains to the southern side of Shikoku made no sense, under the miserable weather condition this would have been a torture.
Instead, I rode eastwards along the coast, towards the city of Takamatsu. The mountains in the south were ...

... This was our first Western meal, not including the sandwiches and pastries, since we arrived in Japan. You can have ala carte as well but we decided to have the set meal, which is quite common in Japan. We had a three course meal. Water or tea is usually included. I opted for a quiche for entree, spag bol for main and a Coke. Joseph had the same except that he had to have a tiramisu as well. Lynne and John decided to have the salad for entree. There were choices ...
