... the smallest of the train museums that we had been to. There was the original bullet train from 1964. It had done over 10 million kilometres which is equivalent to circling the earth about 24 times. There was another "normal" local train there as well as a steam engine train. This was nothing compared with the other museums which had 15 trains or more on their premises.

We went into the next building which was a memorial to Shinjo Sogo. He had a dream of ...

It was a beautiful warm day so we bought some new ...

... And also saw this lovely young couple in traditional dress in a rickshaw. For a fee you can dress in a traditional kimono and have photos taken or stroll around the city. I think quite a few Japanese tourists take up this opportunity because most of them would never own a kimono - they are horrendously expensive ($1500 to.....pick a number, any number, just make sure it's a very large one), and my guess is that there are not a lot of opportunities to wear a kimono ...

    Nattou icecream

A travel blog entry by sazuni on Aug 20, 2014

Yes, nattou ice cream. Maybe you've heard of nattou before? It's fermented beans, very popular with a raw egg. I'm not a fan of it, but the first time I tried it, I excepted it to taste worse. Tonight we had nattou icecream which is basically any flavor of ice cream with a bit of nattou. Then mix well and you're done! It's actually nice as the beans have a special texture and the 'fermented/not very nice' taste is actually not present at all ...
