      ... time to clean out the fridge! Saul called and he is going into the Navy. He has finished all the tests and the physical test and the medical part. He does have to go back next week for another hearing test, and it may be 8 months before his basic starts in the Great Lakes area. We stayed home and feasted on left-overs tonight.

      ... out to take and what a story-she left Persia (Iran) in ‘79 after the problems there. She was allowed to bring nothing with her but $5000.00 attached to her passport. She tried Ohio first and then ended in Boston working for someone and saving money and eventually bought him out, then sold that place to buy this one.       ... town is 99% Muslim. There are many trees and the area just looks more prosperous. Our hotel here is Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Golden Horn, and you need to use door cards to operate the elevator and the electricity. We have a great view out our 5th floor hotel window of the river and a part of the town. The room is smallest yet and has twin beds. It has rained all day so hoping for better tomorrow.       ... of Gabe’s fav band, Dropkick Murphy’s. They signed the back of a guitar string packet and left the old strings in it – this is what I was framing, along with a photo of an album of theirs. Hard to get it into the frame with the strings as they are wire and have knots on them! But I did and it looks great. Now all I have to do is fix the cookie baskets tomorrow and we are ready for the holidays!
