It was great seeing Charlie and Wayne again. Charlie organised for Yvonne another of my students to ring me from Beijing. Yvonne was a great cook and all of the students would follow her instructions. She had a wonderful calm aura about her.

He took us to the office of foreign affairs where we were able to make contact with a few of our past colleagues.

We remembered one previous trip in 1995 from Hankou.
We had our tickets and again were the only westerners. No signs in English.
I visited the toilet but it was so bad I returned without using it.

... The absolutely massive city rested in between tall green mountains and stunned all of us. Standing up their, as the wind whistled through the gazebo, was a perfectly peaceful moment while looking down upon such a chaotic and crowded place.
