    ... be postponed one day, so we’ll get only five days of diving instead of six.

    I’ll be out of internet touch while on the liveaboard dive boat, so I’ll catch up with this after January 24.

    *I learned what I’ve been calling people-movers are "jeepneys." They were first used after WWII, when truck beds were added to leftover army jeeps; now they are still custom-made in the same way.

    Caught a taxi about 15 minutes away from our hotel to Ma'am Rhodora's church. It is the United Church of Christ of the Philippines. As you see from the photo it was a Presbyterian Church until they, the Methodist and others amalgamated. Still had a very Presbyterian feel with its choir and liturgy. Ma'am Rhodora and her son Ray sing in their choir. Her late husband Vic was the pastor a number of years ago. Vic was the one that started the CHE program ...

    ... m going to be doing allot of cooking. Vegetables are a rarity on menus and too many fried foods so this means I will need to keep my exercise routine in order to keep my 'macho on'!

    The city infrastructure is not so great but it is satisfactory. I'm willing to make the sacrifice...I kinda understand this culture much better again because with 300 years of Spanish rule and in south America about the same I know how those damn Spanish ...

    ... open at any moment and suck us both out of the plane screaming. At least this is what Ian thinks as he grips the seat. This is our fifth flight in six weeks and Ian is getting slightly more relaxed whilst flying! We are airport-smart now, and as we exit Cebu airport we dodge the taxi's and hawkers and find a normal road taxi, about half the price and you get a completely insane, suicidal driver for no extra cost. Bargain!
