Well after two days of training every part of my body hurts but I feel great! I'm starting to love our chips, eggs and some green thing breakfast... And I really think that I am learning a lot, I have chosen to study White Crane. For does of you who have never heard of this... Think Karate Kid... He uses a Crane kick to win the last match, this I learned on the first day ...
Nanchang, Jiangxi, China iavor... really hard, as most countries don't seem to have anything special. The breakfasts seem to consist of similar foods to lunch and dinner, which is frequently noodle soup in a lot of places. I found some oatmeal and yoghurt in a supermarket, so I was able to enjoy my first meal of the day for quite some time! We didn't eat in at all for lunch or dinner, as restaurants and ...
Nanchang, Jiangxi, China eddiemetal... and everywhere is a storefront. The Chinese people have been very friendly, they are very happy to see their babies get adopted and often stop us to see Harper and wish her well. We are not sure how much more Chinese food we can eat but we are surviving and have found a Mcdonalds and Pizza Hut, also thank god for Kerris' balance bars, and the only thing that ...
Nanchang, Jiangxi, China 6ofhearts... and play with her toys and takes in everything going on around her. She is on a very good schedule and has done exactly as they told us she would, she wakes up from 6-7 and has a bottle, she has breakfast at 9 has another bottle at 11-11:30 and takes a nap. This afternoon we are going to go sight seeing with Ms. Guilan around the city, I will try to get alot of pictures to upload to the blog. I have attached some Pictures of Harper,
Nanchang, Jiangxi, China 6ofheartsTuesday morning started out bright and early with the wood kiln opening. As I've said before, opening a kiln is always exciting. But somehow, it always seems to be disappointing for me after everything is unloaded. I always have high expectations of my pots, but they rarely live up to those hopes post firing. I love throwing and trimming my pots, but glazing is something I've never learned to do well. I can create forms that I enjoy, but putting a glaze on them ...
Nanchang, Jiangxi, China red_headSeptember 3 -- Day Three with Quincy. No official visits today, as we are just waiting for her Chinese passport to be processed. Our adoption group traveled to another part of town to visit a historical pagoda. Not a religious building, but rather one built for a Chinese emperor and poet. Anyway, we spent about two hours outside the hotel traveling and ...
Nanchang, China snakaguma... the paperwork for the adoption, to start the application for her passport, and to get the notary (judge) to sign off all the signatures. So we get to the lobby first, and as others arrive, Kimberly discovers (I guess she has a "nose" for these things) that Quincy has just dirtied her diaper as we need to head to the adoption office. We're learning that we can never fully plan for everything! The good news is that the office is very close, and we get there ...
Nanchang, China snakaguma... interested in a bird different from the vulture he had there in black on rice paper. Lo and behold he jumps on his motorbike, returns after an hour with a coloured eagle above sea froth. He showed me a magazine in which the painter was displayed. The negotiation that followed took its time. Nevertheless, I was convinced from the first moment I saw the picture. Everytime I look at it, I am smiling about the way we found together.
Nanchang, Jiangxi, China elohim... that soothers aren't so bad and are kind of fun to chew. She throws everything on the floor, so I attached it to her clothes and that in itself had us laughing as she tried to figure out why it didn't land on the floor but was still hanging off of her! I'd like to get her out of the habit of sucking her finger, but already she does it less than the first day. It must be a worry reflex. Right before bed she drank water out of a sippy cup and sprayed herself. Ha ...
