First we picked up what looked like bread rolls, but were actually full of Sichuan peppers and afterwards we found a cafe selling coffee and western food. ... pleasantly surprised by what we saw! Could Chengdu actually have something nice in it?!? Jinli street is a lovely long maze of restaurants and shops that actually sell nice memorabilia. Food stalls prepared nommy looking food on the street side and shop keepers showed off their goods as you walked by, none if it felt like the harassment style of selling we experienced at the pearl market in Beijing or at the Great Wall which was great! we have just arrived to Chengdu after a 36 hour slow train (k train) from Wuxi, Jiangsu to Chengdu, Sichuan.
