I'm writing this entry now at 10:30pm because if I don't I never will!! We have been so busy, I don't think we've stopped from the beginning of February, or even before that!! February half term was so busy! It was more crazy than Christmas. I felt like a dish washing machine! Leo and I stayed in the entire week to help Gill cook and I became an expert at baking cakes! I made caramelised ...
... was almost nil! We got to an area that had quite a bit of green but they were all slopes that were going sideways down the mountain. It worked well for Laura on skis but did not work well for me to get warmed up on my board. Getting back off the mountain was difficult as most of the mountain is black with some green very high up. So, we had to travel sideways down the mountain on this narrow trail that was way too crowded!
... first chairlift we went on! It was incredible! went outside the slopes a little and had such a blast!
While we were waiting for the bus to take us back to Grenoble, we noticed that the resort had its own bus to take people between the different chairlifts! Oops! That would have been good to know in the morning!!
Still, we had a blast, it was definitely a great resort!
From Grenoble, with love,
... the past 2 weeks! We don't want to overdo it and take skiing for granted so we're just resting and helping out with the cooking here and there!
Today I was able to make the cake by myself for the guests! It's nice to play a part in the cooking and something I want to get good at!! I made an Apple and Cinnamon cake from Mary Berry's cooking bible. When I was turning it out, I nearly dropped the cake! My heart stopped for a minute!!!
At the moment ...
... and it's really fun playing with them! Although sometimes a bit tiring!!
We have had today and yesterday off. Leo and I took the puppies on a really long walk to Allemont and around the Lake. It took 4 hours! I felt really good for it afterwards, we definitely deserved our tarteflette last night! I think we will start work next week. We really can't wait to start skiing! We just need to wait for the snow to settle!!
