... to do in – well, ever, or nearly ever. Such fuzzy and beautiful looking creatures, and so dexterous with their hands to pick up treats and bamboo for their lunch. We could have spent hours watching them! But that probably would have annoyed all the people behind us in line hoping for a look, too. So we had to move on, and spent the rest of the day playing spot the lion / tiger / condor / otter / owl / monkey / Hokkaido brown bear / ...

... got to work that night :)

Unfortunately I was not able to make an pictures climbing up, it was just to dark. But it looked incredible, to see the clouds beneath you with the moon reflecting on it.The mountain just a shadow on each side of you, reminding you how steep it actually is.

8 km walk from walk Magemo to Tsumago.

The guide book and the tourist information centre told me that it would take 3hours to walk it.
However I only had 2, as I got up way to late to actually do this walk. What can I say i did it in 1 1/2 hours :)

Rock'n Roll!!!! found the coolest little coffee shop in Tsumago.

Wasted no time going from the base of Fuji to our first onsen (hot spring baths). The minerals in the water are supposed to do good things for the skin. It felt amazing to rest our muscles and get clean after the trek. Checked into Hakone Suimeiso ryokan, a traditional Japanese guesthouse. This is where you are served a kaiseki meal in your room ...
