... you know what you're getting! The next day we rented bikes again. We went to the Imperial Palace for a tour. For this you have to apply prior to visiting, it's a free tour. It was neat to see the inside and learn more about it. We were riding our bikes when it started to rain. We rode our bikes in the rain along the river and it was fun!! To end our day we went up the Kyoto Tower for a night view of the city! The next day we ...

We decided to take a Viator tour (run by Sunshine Tours, Tokyo CIty Tours, Hatobus company) to see Mount Fuji. We were supposed to visit two observation stations on the mountain, have lunch, do a lake cruise, take a cable car to get a view of the mountain and take the bullet train back to Tokyo.

At Kawaguchiko Station, I was about to call K's Mount Fuji Hostel when a girl asked me if by any chance if I was going to a hostel and if it was K's. We both needed to be picked up by their shuttle. Storm as her friends call her is a Torontonian. Once we checked in, we grabbed dinner at a restaurant recommend by the hostel. It was recommended because they serve "chewy noodles" a local specialty. ...

    ... soak before bed?
We had a western breakfast at the Japanese hotel. They should stick to Japanese food. We started the day visiting a traditional Japanese woodworking factory and had a demonstration of how different types of wood are glued together and then cut paper thin with what must be an extraordinarily sharp plane. He claims he can cut a hundred slices from a 4 inch piece. They can also make ultra delicate inlay pictures. He also make ...

... drive around, see Perry's statue on a spot near the harbor, we drive along a road with several temples and then end up at the train station. Back one more time and I suggest we park the car near those two parked busses and ask someone in the tourist shop where Perry Road is. Turns out we are really close and can leave the car in the shop's parking lot. We first see Ryosenji Temple where Commodore Perry signed the Shimoda Treaty on May 25, 1854. This treaty opened the ports ...
