... A group of reservists from the North Carolina tanker unit followed us on our journey into the abyss. Reaching the mudside cliff and descending it were very strenous and had a very steep slope so getting down to the actual falls was very interesting but a lot of fun. The first falls, Lower Sigua reaches down 70 feet to the pool below. Its about 20 feet deep and maybe 30 wide at the most. But the water felt sooooooo ...
Yigo, Guam guamblog... being "icked up" and you could see 100 feet+! Notice how clear some of the pictures are.. Well ill post up here in probably about a week or two.. Weve got some big storms brewing out here so i have a feeling well be hunkering down. We have already evacc-ed all the aircraft possible for a cyclone thats heading for us tomorrow morning... Update... all the storms passed and the worst we got was 30-50 mph winds and heavy showers!
... the other people and our instructor as well as several white fish that would rather travel around the sectiond off swimming area. Breathing underwater for the first time was just as awesome as every one describes it. The first breath or two is a little crazy but you get comfortable real quick and just start breathing normally and its just a whole different world. We sat down there for about 4 hours in total, following sign language directions from our instructor and learning ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... long and considered to be the most difficult of the hikes on the island. To our surprise when we arrived there were lots of trails branching off each other and virtually clearly defined path. There happened to be a group of Coast Guard guys out 4 wheeling the trails and testing out their new jeep so they gave us somewhat of a direction to head in and we were on our way. This is the muddiest place Ive ever been by the way, the dirt is dark red and ...
No jaa, ihan käymisen arvoinen paikka silti. Sisäänpääsy 3 dollaria. Cocos Island Todella upea paikka ja saarella on ihan oma luksusresorttinsa, jonne ihmiset hienosti veneellä kuljetetaan. Paikalle meneville tuskin ...
Tumon, Guam travellerhans... This was my third time in Guam in almost 3 years, but it was the first time that the weather was good. On the 8th, my friend (proud to be Chamorro) gave me a whole day tour of the island. From Tamuning, we went up and took a dip at the fresh wate of Marbo cave then went to the cliff for the awesome sight. After lunch, we took ...
Guam, United States bejtenorio... Alamo-style brick building complete with an actual bell) that made it seem like the American city that time forgot. Add that to the Mall of Micronesia with it's kiddie train ride going though the middle of the mall and the stores selling airbrushed t-shirts, and it really felt like 1985. We did make a trip to the US Post Office there, and I must say that the postal workers in Guam seem a bit happier than their bitter counterparts in New Jersey!
Tumon, Guam globedecker... and steamed, is available for every meal. We decided to stick with good ole pancakes and eggs. My stomach was grateful. Our next order of business is to get some replacement clothes. Please note that while men's boxer shorts can be extremely comfortable, they are not work appropriate (thanks anyway CJ). Exactly one week ago, at nearly the same time, I was at a mall ...
Agana, Guam joelle... to come home after his failed attempt at suicide. Then he pulled out two small bottles of whiskey and we each drank while we talked about life. After all he had experienced, he told me his summation; death is certain, life is not. That little phrase can mean so much to anyone. To me, it meant see the world while you have time and never regeret anything. I've been trying darn hard since.
