... Views from the top floor were incredible. Next stop was a visit to the University of Washington. Situated on the water, it was an impressive campus.
We then took off for Pike Place Market. This was a huge open air market....fish, flowers, fruits, vegetables....you name it. The market itself was blocks long ...
Viel Spass.
Williams, Oregon, United States andre583This was an unexpected highlight brought to me by Tamami, who found it on the web. An entire hotel and resort entirely in the trees. Well, sort of. Most of the rooms are up in the trees, some as much as 40 feet, and some even have water and bathroom facilities. The whole place has been around for over 20 years and they have been adding on rooms and things to do ever ...
Cave Junction, Oregon, United States brandonibologna... It's just across the OR/CA border (less than an hour from Sami's) and has stables and riding trails, as well as, RV campsites, pools and clubhouses, etc. Unfortunately, neither one of the two camping areas are real close to the stables and the one that's right next to the Klamath River is over six miles away. Nevertheless, it's a fun place.
Finally, after about six weeks of fun with great people, we hit the road headed south into CA.
So leaving Port Angeles with a quater tank of petrol we headed for Sol Duc falls - such beautiful forest like nothing i've ever seen! We saw the falls and again no bears (really want to see one!) and walked through the beautiful forest and then thought we better get going. Haha stupid me said we'll be right for petrol and passed a petrol station cos the fuel was ...
Medford, Oregon, United States sharynr... up to Seattle, he checked my I.D. over with HQ to make sure I wasn't a felon and told me I shouldn't park here as it's renowned for breakins and meth users. Apparently a supermarket car park is fine to use and is only a few miles ahead. Moved on up there, got the laptop out and found WI-FI!!! Yayyy, free wi-fi in a car park and I can steal it :D Battery then died so went to sleep!
101 somewhere, Oregon, United States teasertool... us. Overall the locals are very nice everywhere we went and appreciated our business. The ex-pats were a mixed bag some nice, some not so much. Other tourists were a hoot! We would run into allot of the same people everywhere we went. The buses always ran on time and were readily available for the most part. If one is full wait 15-30 min. for the next one. If I hear another "Shaggy" song I'll rip my hair out! This is why ipods are a great part of the travel gear.
Rogue River, Oregon, United States themeierls... he will have scouted out some stuff we ought to check out. We fly out of Belize on March 4th to Denver, spend another night with our girls then fly to Sacramento on the 5th. I have never kept a journal of any kind before so we will see how I do..... Now that our itinerary is laid out I can say that it is cold here at home with ice on the car window each morning. However, the days have been sunny and nice. But not so nice we won't be lovin' Belize in a couple weeks!
Rogue River, Oregon, United States themeierls... with either driving to where I want to go or finding a place to stash a vehicle and then have to go retrieve it later which is silly if you ask me. Since I am new to the couchsurfing idea and I have no arrangements for a couch yet as its probably too early at the moment AND to be considerate to the CSers I have planned for a hotel for the first 1-3 days while I am there and possibly could get a couch for the other 1-3 days that I am there before moving on, my goal isn't ...
Grants Pass, Oregon, United States mynetdude... 11 miles, to the Sea Lion Caves, the only remaining home of wild roaring Steller Sea Lions. 541-547-3111; 9am, $6/P; It was well worth it, we got close and the sound alone was fun. We descended six stories down from the bluff above the ocean to an observatory viewing opening in the cave at just above ocean level. My trusty mini Minolta binoculars brought all the activity up close. A little further was Heceta Head lighthouse which I couldn't get close to, so was limited ...
