    ... stock footage from TripAdvisor for some of the sites.  By the time we were back on the bike, it was 5:30 and with such limited choices for restaurants in the area, we stuck with the one we went to last night - Wild River Brewery and Pizza.  This time Lasagna for me and some chicken pasta dish for Jody.  Again delicious!      Tomorrow we head back to the Oregon Coast to a place called Coos Bay, and back to US-101S ...

    I happen to have hit the leaf time perfectly... and tomorrow it promises to rain. Which would mean most of the leaves will be washing away.

    Just north of the town of Rockport on the coast the CA 1 heads off inland. We decided we had seen enough of the tarmac albeit the coastal drive still being very photogenic. So at N39 46.826 W123 49.903 we ducked off the CA 1 onto the Usal Road, what was probably an original logging track through the forests which for many years were the scene of massive timber production.     ... found this far north...but we'll get back to that. We rode in the dug out canoe displayed on the deck until noticing the sign that stated "do not climb on canoe, $1000 fine" ok it didnt say the fine part, that was for dramatic affect. Returning to the van, I was like a dog lacking oxygen with my head hanging out the window just to be closer to the trees. High definition has nothing on this!
