... this morning to find that our food whole was luckily still in tact, and as far as we could see there was no new bear poop.
We decided that today we were going for our goal. We were gonna summit. We didn't really realize just how much this was asking of ourselves. The hike would be 17 miles going up a total of 4,500 ft but also with at least a thousand foot decline that we would have to make up. ... rocks around the beach it is very beautiful. Mum, Madi, Cal and Sybella had a little swim but it was really really cold. Cal and Daddy spent a lot of time skimming stones across the water, Daddy got one to go 13 times, Cal was amazed. Then we lost Bella after she decided to go for a walk without anyone so it was time to go!
We were back in the car for the long boring road to the bright lights of Reno.

After the very long drive it was late by the time we got to Lake Tahoe and we could only just see the lake which is huge the town is busy all year as they play on the lake during summer and then ski in winter, we passed some very big houses.
We were looking forward to waking in the morning and seeing the lake.

Apart from the magnificent nature, the icy rivers and the wonderful company I was in, the highlight of this trip was to sit down halfway through our hike to open a bottle of Jägermeister, eating delicious biscuits and tangerines, while slowly realizing that this is about as good as life will ever get. Memorable day in a memorable place!
