      Today (Saturday) we're having a day off and spending it at the Speke Resort in Kampala. It's a very smart place on the shores of Lake Victoria and has a large swimming pool.
      Juliet was about to apply her sun cream when we noticed that what she thought was sun cream was actually Spanish hairspray. She had been using it all day yesterday at Sanga and wondered why it had not been very effective!

      ... Juliet is staying next to us and went to reception to ask if they had any influence over the noise. The answer was sadly no. Juliet confessed later that she had prayed for a power cut. Lo and behold the power went out and the noise outside stopped instantly. After a few seconds the generator in the hotel powered up and light was restored for us and the party outside ended abruptly.       ... the hot sun under a large red tarpaulin. The team was here last week and treated over 500 patients. Some people had been waiting since 5am and many people had walked several miles to be seen. The Church hall is part of the Salvation Way Primary School which is due to open in the first week in February. It is set in a beautiful location. The morning was very busy and hot.       ... was going to be positive. Tom met his first ungrateful Ugandan today. He has done a great job doing eye tests and fixing people up with glasses from his very limited stock. A lady was unhappy with the glasses he gave her and became awkward. Tom thinks she came from a privileged background and clearly expected more than he could deliver.       ... and it has been a quieter day for everyone. It's now 3.30 and we.are back down the marram road! The doctors have seen less acute conditions but came across a case of Jiggers, which occurs when people don't wear shoes. It is a grub caught off pigs, where eggs are hatched between toes. It is apparently very contagious and very common. Tom was able to match up donated glasses with recipients and Mohammed and Innocent were delighted. This afternoon Sarah-Beth, ...
