Earlier in the week I had nothing planned for my evening so when one of the waiters was looking to go to a Michelin star restaurant in the area and asked me to join him, I decided to accompany him. The place he chose is called The Samling in Ambleside which is just up the road ...

Beaver had cod for the first time in about 8 years and ordered a side of mushy peas, which everyone else thought was a bad idea! It was however decided that Slug should also partake in the luncheon, so we parked ourselves on a wall and scoffed, Slug had to be fed. After that it was time to walk it off so we headed for a lovely stroll around Derwentwater. Many ...

    How now Tarn Hows

... was lucky as she came face to face with a double decker coach hailing round a bend. She slammed the yankers on and they all saw their lives flash before them. Phew! Carrying on they finally got to Tarn How's after much oohing and ahhhing at the stunning scenery. Parking was the next challenge, the car park was full and full of chaos. Instead of driving around indefinitely Beaver stalked people who were looking like they were about to leave. Patience paid off ...
