... so that was something. But the experience was great. The next day was chilly - for Miami. I sat outside in the garden and couldn’t stay there for long because the wind was so fresh. Miami was having a real cold spell, it was going to get down close to freezing, there was a frost watch in quite a few places. And this very rarely happens. So just as it was getting worse I was leaving and going to ‘proper’ cold, I was going up to Cleveland, Ohio.

(see pictures) What we found at Flamingo Point was the bay and talked to a ranger who suggested that we visit West Lake. It featured a 0.4 mile long boardwalk through a mangrove swamp to a lake.

The first half of the drive south was uneventful. We traveled along the Florida Turnpike but got off at Ft Pierce and drove south on I-95, what a mistake.
