... some original old houses and cottages to the site to recreate a village. There were log cabins the first pioneers built in about 1830-1840, then the railway came through in about 1865 and the houses got a lot fancier! Even at that time they were bigger than a standard NZ 3 bedroom home these days. Heaps of people have paid full-time jobs at this museum to run the stores and welcome guests into “their homes”. Working blacksmith, tin-smith, millers, hat-makers etc. ...
... think we'll go looking for another. It turned out to be much higher in calories than we expected, and didn't fill us up that much.
After the runza, we went into the Cabela's across the street. We must have spent another 90 min or so just wandering through Cabela's. That was a nice stop; we bought a present or two for family, but I'm not telling who!

... bigger than a typical hotel room, but not a 2 room suite like we were blessed with at Scott AFB. We went for a walk around the area; Offut boasts the country's largest "field house" (a gym), in an enormous former hangar that did the mods on aircraft during WWII.
Tomorrow (Friday), we are staying in Omaha, going to look at the SAC museum here, and possible some other places, too.
... enough it is. I wrote it down on a stolen napkin and the taxi driver looks at it from time to time. His name is Javier Pardo and he's friendly and chatty. I think all the drivers who go to the airport are. He tells us that we should call him if we need a taxi and I write down his phone number. I figure he could take us to the airport when we leave.
