We could have easily spent the entire day there, but they closed early today for a Halloween Trick & Treating celebration for the kids, that we didn't know about, so we were limited to a little over 3 hours and only saw half of the zoo. Strategic Air Command Museum
Saturday, the four of us visited the Strategic Air Command Museum near Bellevue and it was awesome! Not only was the museum fantastic, but they had an all day science kid-camp going on, and that was also very interesting. The leaders of our future?!? This was a great ride through history of the US Air Force and the wars they've been involved in.

... what you see above ground. In any case, this is one big base and was very interesting for what we could see, as it is a highly secure base.
We met Heidi downtown Omaha after her classes were out, and went to a GREAT restaurant called Pitch, where we had the most incredible pizza (exactly like Flatbread in Boise), and finished dinner with an equally incredible pumpkin bread pudding.

1600km hitchhiking trip in the lower 48...
... hours at a gas station looking miserable because NO ONE was from out of state, which meant they were all just locals driving locally. It was Independence Day so I had kind of expected this to some extent. While looking miserable I had random people give me about $10 in change thinking I was homeless… People here seem to see a backpack and a cardboard sign and automatically think homeless, I never once asked for money.
