Will and I spent the day in the Changchun centre with John Humphreys,
doing a lesson observation and then delivering a 'Reading Strategies'
professional development workshop at the end of the day. They are a
lovely staff up here - Greg, Jason, Simon, Brandon, Corinne, Michael,
Craig - and all got involved in the session.

Amazing bullet train from Shanghai to Beijing, 1000km in 5 hours, average speed 300 km per hour. Each coach has its own conductor, who comes round with a goody bag of snacks and water at start of journey. Boiling water on tap for you to make tea. Mainly rural countryside, very few towns seen between the two cities.
Met by our guide, Gary, (love the way they all have English names as we obviously couldn't cope with their proper names!) ...

For clarification, the title of this post is not a translation. The Chinese is that studying has finished, and you can read the English.

This morning I took my final exam for my classes here in China. Yesterday I had my composition final (400 characters on a given topic) and today was my conversation class final which included listening and reading comprehension, sentence structuring, written translation, and oral communication. This test marked ...
