Marie had thought it would only take 2 1/2 hours to drive to Byers Texas to see Linda June. But when she checked on line, it showed 6 1/2 hours!. Then because Marie didn't want to drive through Dallas, we didn't use the Interstate freeway, but used smaller roads, making it a 9 1/2 hour trip Was an interesting trip with plenty of time for Marie and I to talk and get to know about each other's lives. ... and get inside if we wanted to see Godwin. The place wasn’t too busy and I figured it had to do with being early noon on a Monday. We went through the store entrance and were greeted by a tall white haired gentlemen working as security. He said hello and offered no rules as we walked past him with our cameras. Mom - we were chatting about our kid's intense medical history, etc. She was encouraged to create a brochure about her son's syndrome, medical history, etc. Believe me, there are times when it's much easier to hand a brochure instead of asking the medical professional, "do you have a week....?" She carries them with her in her bag. I think it's even a good idea to have everywhere we go!

... giggling in no time!

We had a WONDERFUL and INCREDIBLE TIME! It was awesome watching all of the kids interact! We had 8 WISH kids in our group with their families. They were running around, jumping, playing basketball (yes, the basketball hoop on the show!) and getting their treasures signed AND getting pictures. It was ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY! Make A Wish was also taking pictures and will be sending each family a thumb drive with their photos! ...
