Not worth it!

Wouldn't stay here again. Horrible customer service and false advertising on their rooms. Room looked nothing like what is pictured on hotels.com. Front desk didn't care we were wet and cold from the rain. Wouldn't let us check in early or use a bathroom. Had to climb back on the bike and travel in the rain to the gas station to use their facility. Heat is preset in the room to 70 and can't be changed which won't dry out our clothing before morning. They say full premium cable but only have less than 20 channels.

Today has been a very long day: both miles traveled & hours awake! Somehow we managed to stay awake last night in West Monroe, Louisiana long enough (1 am) to watch the Spurs eek out a victory over the Clippers! Even with very little sleep we got up early . We headed over to the Duck Commander office as soon as it opened to take a couple pictures & buy some souvenirs for our friends that watch "Duck Dynasty." We looked for Willie, ...

... Reached my boarding gate at 4.45pm. Didn't even stop to use the toilet, so am holding on till I get to Washington DC. There were thunderstorms around Houston so we had to skirt around these, then also more storms as we flew over Atlanta Georgia. It's 7.15pm now and starting to get dark outside. We fly through a time zone so will land at 8pm Louisiana time, but will be 9pm Washington ...

... windows rolled down since it was 90 degrees F had a number of stops for fuel and cold drinks and to stretch our legs. We actually travelled to PARIS - Texas that is. Just a small place. Passed near Le Tournea University. My father used to work for an American company in Sydney called Le Tournea . Later this company amalgamated with another and became Le Tournea-Westinghouse. ! Left at 10.30am and arrived 8pm. We had promised to take ...

Donuts, Ducks, and Dinner

To get the full effect of the adoration I have for this television show I made sure our first stop was the infamous Haskell’s Donuts. In an episode of Duck Dynasty, Jace and the boys head down to Godwin’s sister’s shop named Haskell’s for a “hot dough-not,” or so it sounds. There is a competition amongst them to see who could eat the most donuts and Si was the winner. He was paid up ...

... in the pool but the water was really cold!

We took a late evening walk so Kallen could 'rock hunt'. He insisted on taking some rocks home!

We leave tomorrow for Lake Charles and board our train around 2pm. We'll be home on Tuesday! Kallen is getting homesick and thought we were going to be home tomorrow....poor guy!

Picked up a great idea today ...
