Branbury State Park in Vermont is on Lake Dunmore and has a cottage that is amazingly only $48 per night. Another early start - these are getting hard to take.

A beautiful drive through Franconia Notch and along the Kancamagus Highway criss-crossing the Connecticut River. Our lunch stop was in Hanover, the home of Dartmouth College, one of eight prestigious Ivy League institutions. Bruce and I watched a guy make our milkshake to have with lunch, he must have put a litre of ice-cream in each. We could hardly drink them through the straw.
