A basic hotel with poor Wi-Fi

Would I stay at the Red Roof Inn Kissimmee again? Most probably not, and for multiple little reasons rather than anything large or obvious. Mainly because the hotel has a run down feeling pervading it - nothing obvious, just a feeling of too many years of not quite enough maintenance and care. Also, Internet signal strength was always poor in my room, so response times were also poor. I wandered around a bit with my phone on my level to find better signal strength in some areas and less in others, leading me to suspect there are not enough repeater stations to give even coverage. My room was basic with vinyl floor, a practical thing to do but which doesn't help the overall 'bit run down' feel. That said, my room was clean, the bed was comfortable and shower water hot and plentiful and staff helpful. I also had issues with the lock of my room - first the battery in the lock died (and was changed promptly) but then I couldn't get in with either electronic key so had to be given a hard-key to use for the rest of my stay. I didn't pay a lot for my room, and apart from the poor Internet (which is a deal breaker for me) the other issues were just annoyances, BUT, why put up with them when there are literally dozens of other hotels in the area, all advertising themselves at around the same price point, many of which are in better condition, So I didn't extend my stay and moved to a far more appealing hotel for similar money.

Wednesday and Thursday at Mecum - Kissimmee. I haven't stopped grinning since I got here. The weather has been perfect - mild days with clear skies.

I arrived about two thirds of the way through the auction (16th to 25th) with about 1000 vehicles left to go and my head spun just from looking at car, after car, after boat, after car, after …

We then headed to Animal Kingdom for our first three FastPass reservations of the trip. Kilimanjaro Safaris and then TJ and I headed to Expedition Everest. Mally and Amy went to It's Tough to be a Bug. We all then headed to ...

... The selection was limited so it looks like our last meal in England will be a Weatherspoons breakfast. This was our first Weatherspoons of the trip and sadly it produced our worst meal. I did treat myself to a breakfast Stella which was pretty tasty. Airports are the one place on earth you can order a pre-noon beer and not be judged. Other highlight of the airport was Leslie posing for a photo with a giant Harrods bear woohoo.

... They just kept going up and up and I stopped reading when the "Miller's Woodyard Australian Chardenay" came in at $299.

I handed back the wine book and told Tandem we'd not be having wine, and his face fell, and all the brightness went out of his happy attitude. We'd lost him, he didn't care about us any more. He went into complete auto-mode. We told him our choices from the menu but he corrected us at every stage with "well, what I would recommend is this" or "what ...

... on the Jurassic Park River Adventure, with much consternation we got there. Rorke and I sat with a lovely lady and her daughter unfortunately her daughter was rather large and so the lap restraint didn't restrain me let alone Rorke so between the 2 of us we wedged him in and held him down. From here we went into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where Courtney and I went on the Dragon challenge blue ride and Rich stayed and ...
