Would I stay at the Red Roof Inn Kissimmee again? Most probably not, and for multiple little reasons rather than anything large or obvious. Mainly because the hotel has a run down feeling pervading it - nothing obvious, just a feeling of too many years of not quite enough maintenance and care. Also, Internet signal strength was always poor in my room, so response times were also poor. I wandered around a bit with my phone on my level to find better signal strength in some areas and less in others, leading me to suspect there are not enough repeater stations to give even coverage. My room was basic with vinyl floor, a practical thing to do but which doesn't help the overall 'bit run down' feel. That said, my room was clean, the bed was comfortable and shower water hot and plentiful and staff helpful. I also had issues with the lock of my room - first the battery in the lock died (and was changed promptly) but then I couldn't get in with either electronic key so had to be given a hard-key to use for the rest of my stay. I didn't pay a lot for my room, and apart from the poor Internet (which is a deal breaker for me) the other issues were just annoyances, BUT, why put up with them when there are literally dozens of other hotels in the area, all advertising themselves at around the same price point, many of which are in better condition, So I didn't extend my stay and moved to a far more appealing hotel for similar money.

Wednesday and Thursday at Mecum - Kissimmee. I haven't stopped grinning since I got here. The weather has been perfect - mild days with clear skies.
I arrived about two thirds of the way through the auction (16th to 25th) with about 1000 vehicles left to go and my head spun just from looking at car, after car, after boat, after car, after …
... towards the Osbourne Dancing Christmas Lights Spectacle! Before we saw it, Kaleb and I stepped into the Star Wars 3D ride. All I can say is WOW! Disney definitely knows how to do 3D. After the ride, we met up with Jodi and Ray for the lights. As always they didn't disappoint. Kylee as exhausted as she was, enjoyed the show and even danced to the music ever. She also liked catching the fake snow coming down. All in all, it was a great ...
... ask at the marina then. Or maybe not.
I was in a foul mood by this time and just wanted to get back to the room and it was round about here that the stupid woman ran over my foot.
One footnote to all this (pun intended) is that Min has just called to me from the other side of the room. "What are you doing?"
"Typing my blog"
"There's a hell of a lot of Tippetty tapping going on. I can't concentrate on my book. Can't you type quieter?"
I can't win.
... One of the six had a time share arrangement with Sheraton, so we spent arrival night at the Sheraton Vistana Villages. It suited our purposes for an introductory night. It was big. It was nice. It was clean and up to date. However it wasn't close to Disney -- our primary target -- and we didn't take advantage of the amenities. It was a place to stay.
I was actually in Orlando for two nights prior to our trip, attending the first weekend of ...
... to the Flights of Wonder bird show. This show featured a number of birds doing impressive tricks, flying around the amphitheatre. We used our fast passes for the Expedition Everest yeti ride which was a really cool roller coaster. We also caught the Disney Parade which was fabulous. The parade featured all of the main Disney characters on floats but with a jungle/wildlife slant. Our last attraction for the day was Finding Nemo – The Musical. This was a ...
