Would I stay at the Red Roof Inn Kissimmee again? Most probably not, and for multiple little reasons rather than anything large or obvious. Mainly because the hotel has a run down feeling pervading it - nothing obvious, just a feeling of too many years of not quite enough maintenance and care. Also, Internet signal strength was always poor in my room, so response times were also poor. I wandered around a bit with my phone on my level to find better signal strength in some areas and less in others, leading me to suspect there are not enough repeater stations to give even coverage. My room was basic with vinyl floor, a practical thing to do but which doesn't help the overall 'bit run down' feel. That said, my room was clean, the bed was comfortable and shower water hot and plentiful and staff helpful. I also had issues with the lock of my room - first the battery in the lock died (and was changed promptly) but then I couldn't get in with either electronic key so had to be given a hard-key to use for the rest of my stay. I didn't pay a lot for my room, and apart from the poor Internet (which is a deal breaker for me) the other issues were just annoyances, BUT, why put up with them when there are literally dozens of other hotels in the area, all advertising themselves at around the same price point, many of which are in better condition, So I didn't extend my stay and moved to a far more appealing hotel for similar money.

Wednesday and Thursday at Mecum - Kissimmee. I haven't stopped grinning since I got here. The weather has been perfect - mild days with clear skies.
I arrived about two thirds of the way through the auction (16th to 25th) with about 1000 vehicles left to go and my head spun just from looking at car, after car, after boat, after car, after …
... parking lot with their owners just getting ready to leave. We stopped one of the drivers and were told that today was Stake Conference and that they were all done and gone for the day. An older gentleman then handed Ted a paper with a few jokes on it and told a few at the window. A strange encounter but the kids found it fun. "What did the peanut say to the police officer? Arrest that man! I was just a-salted!" We were disappointed as we had hoped that we could let ...
... minutes, we gave up and drove to a free residential street to sleep. Unfortunately for Jenny, she stood in an ants nest which wasn't very good and started to freak out about that a bit. Recovering from the ants fiasco, we settled down and turning on the trusty fan, fell asleep in the bed we have named Herbie. The following day, we got up and began the long drive to Tallahasse (a small town towards the north of Florida). On the way, we decided to stop at a natural spring called ...
Hi all, today we went off to the other side of Florida to a State National Park that specialised in providing homes for hurt national wildlife and protecting manatees. It was amazing. We went in to the park on a barge that took us on a small trip through the swamp land. There we saw alligators and other wildlife in their natural setting. Then we learnt about Manatees and saw them feeding and swimming in a water way set up ...
... we were "greeted" by a somewhat loud and boisterous Hawaiian entertainer. She invited the dining children to learn Hawaiian customs and phrases, which was an effort in futility much like herding cats. While we were being entertained we began to wonder when we would begin our dining experience. Careful what you wish for... First came the Hawaiian greeting bread. Had we known of the plethora of meats that awaited us we probably would have ...
