I arrive at 12am...this Motel 6 is a little creepy...haggard front desk attendant, dudes lurking from the 2nd floor balcony, girls waiting in a junky car, black cockroaches on the sidewalk. I'm annoyed that the dudes are watching me get things out of my packed car. I keep saying to myself -- you're only here for 1 night! I purposely auto-lock my …

We went for a wonder after dinner along the Bricktown Canal and watched the ducks swimming about.

We could hear a local band playing and the atmosphere was so good. A million miles from the feeling we had in St. Louis.

We strolled past HOOTERS. We didn't go in. I've got my own bad boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our bed was calling and so we went back to the hotel and turned in for the night!!

... I was SO happy. The journey back down, again with Joyce was clunky, but thankfully quicker and the feeling of immediate death soon subsided!!! I felt happy to be back on the ground! We then decided to head off back onto route 66 to continue our adventure. Getting out of St Louis was challenging! There were roadworks in the way and it took a while to find our way! Along the route there were what felt like thousands of signs telling drivers to "Vote ...
