... NSW, on a larger scale accompanied by a lot of bible bashing and patriotism. The problem is that I'm neither a devoted god loving Christian nor am I American, but the majority were and they are the target market. I went to two different shows, one gospel the other country (or hillbilly) and in both the order went God, then veterans, then God bless America, with a hand on the heart standing ovation for an anthem style ...

... to pay the 50 cent fair with a $5 note he said "I can't ... I say I can't possibly change that" complete with cartoon character drawl, I nearly fell off my seat laughing. I'm sure he thought me quite odd. And the town itself is fantastic. If Nashville is the buckle this place could make up the rest of the belt all on its own. I passed one store called "God's Corner" only to cross the street and ...

I've been alone in this car for eight hours Right now I'm wishing I didn't buy an aftermarket exhaust because after eight hours I can't hear at all. Right now I'm wishing I didn't eat that bean burrito fifty miles back, because we just passed the last rest stop for 100 miles. Right now I'm wishing I had packed something other than oatmeal cream pies and Mountain Dew for snacks. Speaking ...

Beautiful time of year to be visiting!

While we were in Gatlinburg, Talia and I took a walk down the tourist main street/corridor in the evening while Tony and the younger girls swam in the pool at our lodge/hotel that they thought was AMAZING, because it was 70's style (according to Tony) with rock ledges, and 9 ft. deep areas of the pool.
A big highlight during our stay was getting to ...

    Nice Place!

    from motorcity70

Stayed here two nights on a short vacation to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. Hotel was clean, quite nice and affordable. No complaints, would recommend anyone stay here while in the Pigeon Forge area.

Off the main parkway, but close to everything

    from puddnpie

    May 29 thru June 3rd

My 7yoa son and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn for five days. I made my reservations through reserve pigeon forge. I recomment it. Well, when we arrived about 4:30pm the lobby was pretty empty. The guy at the desk seemed pretty clueless, but i checked in w/o a problem. The only info he gave me was where the elevator was (which was right behind me and what floor to get off at). We stayed in room 418 which had a nice view of the restaurants across the road. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable. The window opened about 5 inches and had no screen. Two rooms in the hotel had balconies possibly the suites (?). Also the rooms on the 1st floor by the pool had patios. The pool has a retracable roof, was clean, and a decent temp. The hot tub was not hot and had a lot clorine. It made my eyes burn the moment I got in. The breakfast...Bagels, bread, adult cerals, sometimes waffles, bananas if not all gone, muffins, tropical fruit salad, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, milk, hot tea, jellies, cream cheese, oatmeal, and little donuts.

    Overall:

Pros: The hotel was very quite, not crowded, walking distance to several non crowded resturants and shopping center next door with mini golf. Also hotel has all in door corridors.

Cons: Staff was also very quite...never said morning, afternoon, hows your stay, .......

    Nice jacuzzi suites

    from AlissaJ

My husband and I usually stay at the RRI when we are in the Pigeon Forge area, because 1: it is cheap, and 2: its very centrally located. We have stayed there 3 times, always in the 4th floor jacuzzi suite. There is aplenty of room to spread out, and all in all is a very comfy room. The first time was right after the hotel opened, so everything was absolutely spotless. I did notice this last time that things were beginning to be in need of refurbishment, and I suspect it wont be long before this takes place. Anyway, we have never had any problems there, with staff, cleanliness, or anything else, except for the last time where our fireplace didnt work (didnt care, it was in April, didnt need it ). And while I cant say anything about lost reservations or pillows, I read many people's complaints about rude staff, and I just wanted to say dont take it too personally. Maybe its just because I am a native East Tennesseean, but you just have to understand that many locals DONT LIKE the tourist trap the area has become-they dont enjoy serving tourists, but those jobs make up the biggest work base. So just chill a little, think of that desk clerk as a PERSON, not just someone there to serve you, or I guarantee you will get bad service.

Worst Place Our Family Has Ever Stayed

    from anonymous

The Hotel is nice, but the one of the members of the staff made it very unpleasant!!!

We asked for extra pillows for our children and we were told to come on down and get them, we immediatly went down to be told someone else had come to get the last two before we got there!!! My husband just explained that we just called and the staff member replied "Oh well, it's not my problem." It was all my husband could do not to knock the guy up side the head!!! WHen you pay to go on vacation you expect them to be a little more curteous, even if they have run out of supplies.

The same staff member was very unprofessional talking about the manager loudly to another staff memver so tourists could hear.

Run very poorly. My husband came back to find out other people he worked with had stayed here and had a very upsetting experience. Had we known this we would have never wasted our money.

    Won't be back...

    from anonymous

Beware. We called and got reservations for two rooms and was told the rate would be $39 per room. After we stayed the night in the two rooms, which were absolutley the same, no difference, they wanted to charge higher for one of the rooms for no apparant reason. At the time we were told they had an indoor/outdoor pool...well they only have an indoor pool and we asked the manager about the outdoor pool and he told us that the indoor pool had doors on it and they could open those to make it appear to be an outdoor pool. Very uncool. Now the ad does say indoor pool, so glad they cleared that one up. The rooms were okay but not satisfactory enough that I'd want to return. If I could recommend a hotel I'd say stay in Park Tower Inn...great quality, clean, and nice for a very wonderful and satisfactory price.

    Super hotel

    from kyky

Checked in on a Thursday afternoon. They were sold out except for the Kids Suite room - went ahead and took that since for $89.00 we got two adjoining rooms with fridge, microwave, bunk beds, pull out sofa and unlimited FREE video games in the kids room and in our room was a king bed with jacuzzi. Indoor pool open 24 hours and free breakfast in the morning. - SUPER DEAL!

Staff was very friendly and hotel was very clean! - Would stay there again.

Hotel is near shopping, Kid Country and food! - No need to drive!

I urge everyone not to reserve a room

    from anonymous

I reserved a room with Red Roof Inn for a month in advance. We had stayed at the RRI before and had an excellant time, we thought things would go fine but,we were in for a suprise. On 03/25/05 we had a confirmation # for 2 nights. When we arrived they said they had given our room away due to not being able to hold it. We had drove for 3 hrs. to Pigion Forge to find that we did not have a room. RRI did not call or send e-mail to let us know that for some stupid reason they had given our room away without notice even though we had a conf. # in hand that they had e-mailed us. I think that this is very crappy business. I am very upset and will never stay at the RRI again. When we found another hotel to stay at the manager said that we were not the only ones there with the same problem on the very same day.

    Wonderful stay

    from anonymous

My husband and aI stayed at the RR on Spring Break of 03 for 4 nights and it was wonderful. The room was all that and more with a jacuzzi . The service was excellent . We will stay there again and again. We had a very romantic room.Everything was clean and quiet and we were well taken care of.

Enjoyed the layout of the family suite & nice pool

    from BrendaConyers_GA

My family stayed at the RRI, Pigeon Forge for 5 nights in 10/03. We stayed in a family suite. My children enjoyed the bunk beds and video games in their room. My husband and I enjoyed the jucuzzi in our room. The breakfast was OK. The indoor pool was large. Staff was friendly. Did have a problem with them not cleaning the room properly (did not replace coffee and all towels) one time but the rest of the time it was great.

VERY UPSET w/ RRI in Pigeon Forge

    from anonymous

I feel it necessary to let people know that are thinking of visiting RRI in Pigeon Forge, please be aware that just because you have a conf# on a particular kind of room, does NOT mean that you will have that sort of room waiting for you. This problem has happened to me TWICE -- the first in July '03 and the second 9-20-03. When I drive 80 miles with a conf# in hand, I think the room I reserved should be there - cleaned and UNoccupied. Both times, the manager simly said that the people had decided NOT to leave, and there was nothing he could do about it - I BEG TO DIFFER. I could go on about this problem, but I think I've said enough to let the public know that they should have a BACKUP plan if they plan on staying at the Red Roof Inn in Pigeon Forge, TN.
