We don't give up vacationing easily. We departed Kiawah Island, SC early this morning to head back to Michigan. We stopped about mid-way home, at Daniel Boone National Forest area in Kentucky, around 3:30 pm. We spent a couple of hours experiencing the views and the hiking trails of the Cumberland Falls State Park. All the ups & downs, and many, MANY ...

... tennis bat and as it broke off the handle it knocked my hat off my head, hit me in the face and I fell into the six inches of water. For those of you worried about my safety, no cuts or bruises. Just a drenched hat and battered ego. The rest gave Kylee a few minutes out of her car seat and Kaleb and ...

Long day of driving - 442 miles, about 7.5 hours.

We stay at this park usually on our way back home. It's comfortable, easy access, and good hookups. It is connected with a company that brings in live country entertainers throughout the year. We keep hoping we will be there when something is scheduled but have missed it so far.

Good nights sleep then on the road ...

Woke up this morning to 22 degrees and clear. Yesterday it snowed on and off all day although it never did stick to the ground. Now we have officially reached the coldest weather we will probably see on our trip. Love our down comforters.

Today we drove to Bowling Green, Kentucky where we will be for three nights.
