After arriving at the airport, checking in, going through security, and waiting to board, my flight was cancelled, altering my entire itinerary. I am now leaving tomorrow afternoon. Luckily for me Laura saved me and I am now in a comfy bed typing this instead of scathing about the worst airport experience ever. :) Hopefully round two will be ...

I am sitting at the Grand Rapids airport, waiting for my flight to board. After saying all of my goodbyes I feel many things, but overall I am glad I made the choice to research abroad. It's hard to make changes in life, but sometimes a change is necessary in order to get to where you're going.

Excited to get to Cape Town, although I have a lot of travel time ahead of me!

Prices here would range from $80,000 (2 bedroom, 1 bathroom) to $200,000 (4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms) with good sized lots and nice gardens, so considerably less expensive than Ellen's area, in the commuter-belt near DC. Housing in Grand Rapids would ...

... first real "big person" adventure. But now that I am out seeing new places and meeting knew people, it seems that all I want to do now is find a way back home. For me this will be a fact that I will have to live with. I love being in new places. I love acclimating to new environments. I love experiencing new cultures. But coming back to my "home" realigns me and brings me back to the center of it all. This journey that I will be taking is one that ...
