... but this has changed over the years but football still is god. There is a huge stadium which is just for football and hosts about 6 games a year. Their football season is only about 11 games. Seems such a waste to have a facility so underutilised.

Then we headed for St Joseph's Lighthouse. This was a lighthouse I had hoped I would see but it was so far down the Lower Michigan Peninsula that we did not see it at the beginning of our trip but it was not ...

Slept in which was so lovely. Sun is getting up later and the foggy morning also helped. Nice to have a home breakfast courtesy of Madge's kitchen.

Continued on highway 80 which took us past Chicago. The traffic was heavy both ...

We left Dummerston and took a scenic highway. The hills were finally showing some of the famous color we were told about. We stopped at a high viewpoint on Hogback Mountain and we could see the colorful hills stretching off for miles. We were so glad we took the slow scenic route today. In a few days we'll start to travel further and take the interstate highways. After a bit of shopping we spent the night ...

... We too can't take the winters. We headed down the road toward our next destination, Niagara Falls via Palmyra, NY. We got as far as South Bend, IN., home of Notre Dame University. We found a Walmart that would let us boondock in their parking lot with all the big rigs. We made some dinner and then carefully climbed in bed (no the bed is not fixed yet). Ted says he needs some pieces wood to go along with the glue and clamps he has at the ready. ...
