    ... which was 6:30 PST. But I still was up to midnight. Darn River Monsters -- watched four episodes, one of which I slept through the last half. I learned about lampreys -- creepy and how they are invading some of the waters of the Pacific NW. They use their suction to climb waterfalls!     ... Appalachians from the air. But the whole area was covered in clouds. In descending you could see it was layers of clouds. It was pretty fascinating. The top layer was just the thin clouds, but below was a thick layer of clouds. The plane was cutting a slice of cloud cake. Fascinating how God made them.

    ... cleared our schedule for a day or two, but I feel sorry for Ben who'll have to jump back into school and play rehearsal on Monday. Of course, with all the sleep we let him get, he should be fine and perhaps better rested than he would be had he been home!

    ... got seats on the RDU-ORD flight, and was told that we’d have to get seats on the Frankfurt flight from Lufthansa. She tried online and couldn’t do it, so she called and was told that if you’re in any of the five lowest fare classes you can’t get seats until 23 hours before the departure time.
