Luckily, it's Super Bowl weekend, so we found our own entertainment at the bar next door to the hotel. With the likely name of "Helen Back," we figured this was the place to have a good time--and we did! They had a giant big projection tv, so we placed ourselves right in front of it to watch the Super Bowl. Wasn't that a great game? We ...

... hotel called Ambrosia which was more like a B&B, and included a great breakfast. We felt like we were on a retreat. We visited the historic Audobon House where saw wonderful original paintings and prints of the famous Birds of America, and had another snorkelling trip. On the way back to St Petersburg, we decided to go via Alligator Alley, (I have been on the lookout for some since we arrived!) but we got as far as Homestead ...

We are leaving for Alaska in about 3 weeks! We plan to be gone until mid-October. It is a long drive, especially from Florida! We have spent the last 3 months preparing. We have mapped out the itinerary, made modifications to the camper and bought many things to be used on the trip. That in and of itself has been a journey.

The itinerary is planned for 117 days: we will drive diagonally across ...
