Today was supposed to be a rain day so we planned things that didn't require good weather. As it turned out it was a beautiful day - probably over 19 degrees!! We started out at the Folk Center - many great pieces from local artisans including quilting, pottery, paintings, woodworking, jewellery no more. Then we drove to the Builtmore Estate - home of the Vanderbuilts. We didn't actually see it ... A very ...

... chose the route to Mt. Mitchell via Blue Ridge Pkwy. However, partway along, we found that the road was closed. So, we continued along the open road to Waynesville and from there to Burnsville North Carolina. After inquiring at an information center, we discovered that we still had an hour+ to go soooo, we perused a couple of shops and headed back home. We bought firewood and the 4 of us enjoyed a lovely campfire with wine and apps... A great ...

Asheville is the main city in fat western North Carolina and the coolest place in South at over 2,000 feet elevation, chilly in winter and not as miserably hot as the rest of the South in summer. It has a reputation for being of best small cities in which to live in America, a kind of relaxed, chilled-out hipster locale far away from bustle of bigger cities. If were to live in the South I would likely choose Asheville if for no ...

      ... game just like me.

Tomorrow we are going to Little Switzerland and try to find the man that bought my MGA 4 years ago. I would love to see the MGA and what he may have done to it. We will take the Blue Ridge Parkway over so that in itself will be nice.

We are slowly making our way home and may even extend our trip to see our grandson play football.

      ... community. A verdant
valley creates a natural amphitheater with a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf
Course as the center stage, all surrounded by the Pisgah
      National Forest. Dramatic mountain
vistas are seen in every direction.
While Kent explains the passion to preserve the natural beauty and
tranquility of the land, we easily see how this private residential community lives
up to its vision for a planned upscale community ...
