    ... control and doing what you want, but it’s extremely lonely. I’d rather give up some freedom and have a friend than be alone.     ... in the service. It's no secret that Japan is famous for their exceptional customer service, but the service in NY had never struck me as bad. It's interesting what a year of bell-ringing from the table, servers bending over backwards and doing it with a smile, can do to you. I suppose it was a bit of reverse culture shock, and I'm sure I'll be able to readjust.
