    Hi Everyone,

Though this entry is way past overdue, I must admit that the past two weeks have literally been a whirlwind...

Starting with a crazy, fun sleepover at the center on July 12th to say good bye to the kids as I prepared for surprising my parents back in the U.S.

Followed by a potentially threatening and terrorizing typhoon sweeping through the Philippines on July 14-16th

Leading to consequential flight cancellations and rerouting to Manila ...

... speeding. Here her son had to do a #2 (poor thing looked like he was about 3) and she tried to make it, to no avail. She got a ticket and another surprise from her son, glad I was on the bike and not driving in the car with them. Hit some misting rain for most of Ohio, but other than that nothing eventful happened. We did 620 miles and got to Howe, IN by 5PM. This is where Waldo will be spending the night. Our hotel is 2/10 of a mile ...

We didn't notice the time passing and didn't seem to be in any hurry to leave! Finally, we said our good-byes and ...

... from the exit of GM. After a short lunch, we drove on through the Michigan countryside where we viewed our first deer running across an open meadow, a beautiful sight. We also saw quite a few wild turkey by the side of the road.
We reached the Canadian border at Port Huron where we were met with another downpour from the same storm. Our border wait took about five minutes and a pleasant agent welcomed us and we were free to enter. Welcome to Canada, eh!

As usual, we were up at the crack of our dawn (7:30), got ready for the day's travels and headed 100 feet to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Not really sure how it happened, but once again, we didn't start down the highway until 11 am. Good intentions.......

It was a busy travel day through cities, rather than countryside, as we rounded the tip of Lake Michigan. We had difficulty finding diesel ...
