Red Pine Inn & Conference Centre Alliston

First port of call - Visit Elsa and Ken who are about to become first-time parents at the end of December. We're very excited to meet our new grandchild, probably by Skype the first time, in late December. Our travels will take us to Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah, with a possible trip to India in May to celebrate Eugenie's 50th. birthday.

... was just trying to hide his emotions. I've had a few nights out in downtown Toronto, which is always fun and hangover inducing, and am now on the countdown to my flight to Sydney, via LA, where I expect that my love/hate relationship with customs will spark to life again.

So, America is done for this trip and I thought I'd finish this leg with something that was on a major news show while I was there which I think sums up the place quite well...

Decided to write down info about our travels. First leg is not very long and not too far. Nottawa, Ontario to Maitland Bridge, Nova Scotia, distance of about 6300km or 3700miles (i think!).

We have spent the last five days staying with Ali's relatives in Alliston. We had an excellent time - has very beautiful scenery and was really relaxing. We arrived on Friday night to a feast fit for a king! We spent the evening eating amazing home cooked food, drinking nice wine and laughing a lot! Well, 1101 is finally empty! Kind of sad to leave my room all barren and echoey. ... downtown, in the "entertainment district", through china town, to the CN Tower, and most importantly, to the Hockey Hall of Fame to touch the beloved Stanley Cup! :o) We met a lot of interesting, friendly people in TO, and it made up for the ridiculously long bus ride to get there!!

The other thing i must mention is the fact that my ipod erased itself, my camera decided to break and i lost that little blue book that the passport goes in and so yeh i was a little annoyed at the way things were working out. On the sunday morning i went to some random church there in the city and then i went to locate the australian consulate there so i could get another passport holder book the next day ...

... Tower where we enjoyed dinner in the 360 degrees revolving restaurant. NIAGRA FALLS........ Caught the Greyhound from Toronto to the Falls. Had a journey behind the falls before sailing aboard the Maid of the Mist. Aerocar was 400ft above whirlpools...scary!!! Then it was back onto the Greyhound on our onward journey to the Big Apple.
