Here I am trying to pack for yet another trip. Everything out ready to put 1/2 back....then another 1/2 back in a day or so. The good news is that we have really no restrictions on weight (other than the standard 2-bags at 50lbs each) and neither Southwest nor Mexicana is charging for baggage. No way I'll need that baggage limitation but I still worry about having to carry the stuff around!<br ...
Spokane, Washington, United States nomadgalFinally got the truck back, all fixed and running beautifully. Decided to get on the road, though it was already 2 pm. Headed south along Flathead Lake through green forests and valleys to I-90, then west, west, west. All uphill, what a climb, to Coeur d'Alene in Idaho, then downhill into Washington State. Spent almost two hours trying to find Riverside State Park in the city of Spokane, finally set up the camper and tried to settle down for the night.
Spokane, Washington, United States denisitaIt was a very sad morning, saying farewell to our ranching chums. Sid and Nancy left very early for Philadelphia, Robert and Kelly to Indiana, Jill, Fred and William (who came for a long weekend) back to Dallas and the heat and Jane, Jim, Steve and Judith off to Spokane for their afternoon flight to San Francisco. The Greens and Priests set about loading their RVs ready for the next stage of our holiday - us to drive to Plains, Montana (about 2.5hours away) and The Greens to San ...

They started off shooting at the grass or into the trees but by a few goes they were aiming at the pile and even hitting targets.

One evening the children were taken off for a pow wow and barbecue and the adults were spoilt with a seven-course sample menu. We did not know what to expect and we must admit ...

We got there in one piece and off we went to the clubhouse to sign in. Here I found that we were playing a top 50 US course famous for one particular hole "The floating green at Coeur d’Alene!" – the ...

Spokane, Washington, United States scher-air... aunt, uncle and brother and wife. This world is small.

Our log cabin was spacious, comfortable and clean. Everything laid on with a view of the valley and the horses. We freshened up and started to unpack the RV and then it was dinner and a chance to find out who the Green’s knew that we knew and meet our other guests, a lovely couple from Philly called Siggy and Nancy who we have nicknamed Sid and Nancy.

We were invited to a ...
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, United States prieststrip... time like I was somewhere inside a 20-minute window between glistening wet and glistening icy road. Focus, low angle curves, senses hawklike trained on the look and feel of the road. Definitely one of those slim margin situations were it to turn. At some point during the white ride I notice that my windshield and my gaiters have iced over. Gentle, gentle. Sketchy, sketchy. Keep toes and fingers moving. Slow down if needed, but not too much. I ...
Spokane, Washington, United States joe.kilch... through Idaho into Washington State, where we spent the night in Spokane. Hooray, civilization as we city dwellers know it started again! The sign that we had entered the 'first world', was not signaled by the advent of electrical poles or by the presence of law enforcement agents, but rather by the fact that my iPhone suddenly recognized AT&T. Everything was well with the world again...
