On February 13th we flew to Austin, Texas with Kat, Gav, Yvette and Pat. We rented a great house walking distance to Rainey Street and headed there as soon as we were settled in. We had a great BBQ lunch at Bangers before continuing on to 6th Street – a big party street. We had a few cocktails along the way before heading out for a great Indian dinner a bit later.

Monday 26th May, our last full day in Austin and the rain that has threatened for the last few days has finally arrived. It's nice to do the laze around the house thing. A load of washing is done in readiness for the next part of our trip, New York tomorrow. With bellies grumbling we head out for a late lunch. ... Sue, Sam and I drove around to a massive park and out came the Sherrin for a few dobs...... end to end. I haven't kicked the footy since Sam was 15 so it was a rusty start. But it wasn't too long before I was dobbing a drop punt 50m and the odd "Screwy" 60m. I even got the checkside working. It rekindled a few memories for me, 30yrs ago when I was in my prime!
