... unable to see it. We had a nice day walking around the downtown area and just enjoying the awesome weather. We had some lunch at Whole Foods Market and enjoyed people watching at the capital building. After the long day of walking we found a this cool little bar, Little Woodrow's and watched the Yankes/LA. Not a bad way to end our stay in Austin, good beer and baseball playoffs!

... they also airlifted another person out. It keeps coming back to my mind periodically. Just changed the mood of the car for a while, knowing what was taking place. But all in all it was a good day. Dad and Mom seemed to have really enjoyed the day as well. So tomorrow we go to the LBJ library and drive to Dallas, and then in Dallas we do Deally Plaza and the 6th floor museum.
Austin, Texas, United States kayaker902Alaska Airlines I hear just started doing this direct flight from Seattle to Austin which is cool because it got me here in 3.5 hours. Another 20 min public bus ride for 75 cents and I was at my hotel. I spent the early evening walking around from 6th @ Guadelupe down to 2nd, as far east cas Neche, north to the State Capitol and a bunch of streets in between.

Highlights include the beaches and people of southern Thailand and Bali, the beauty of the landscape in New Zealand, the culture of Vietnam, the adventure and lawlessness of Mexico and Guatemala, and the beauty and big sky of the western US.
And lastly, thanks to everyone that we met or stayed with along the way as this will ultimately be the most memorable part of the ...

- Remarked how friendy people in Texas are.
- Looked out for a cowboy hat for Christen.
Things we did in San Antonio:
- Ate at Rosario's. Delicious! Homemade chips, tasty chipotle salsa, grilled tilapia tacos with huge chunks of avocado, bean and cheese tostadas with lime cilantro slaw, and the clincher, a finely crafted frozen ...
... know that. I tell them that. I don’t want kids because I don’t intend to have a steady enough job to raise them, and I don’t want to live in the same place long for them to get settled in a school. I never wanted a relationship where a single individual had to be all things to one person. The math doesn’t work, and that’s usually what a marriage ends up being as the years wear on – one person replacing the dozens or hundreds we ...

Eric is basically just a giant teddy bear, so he's an awesome dad. Libby was tons of fun to be around and we caught her at an amazing age. In front of our eyes, in the few months we were back in the States, she went from crawling to standing, then ...

Good news the stop sign is loose and disconnected from the trailer,... back her up says one guy... Oh great.... backing up, me ! I did it like a pro (didn't hit anything else) straighten her out and then parked on the other side and had to wait for my tools ( they had to put the stop sign back up of course) then up a little ...
Austin, Texas, United States jkessyWell I thought I'd try this thing out first. So this is the guinea pig entry! We are currently planning our 7.5 week trip backpacking through Europe. We are excited to get the opportunity to do this, although the planning stages have been overwhelming!!!! And figuring out what to pack in one piece of luggage for 7.5 weeks- wow, it's harder than you think. Look for another update in May when we begin our travels.
Austin, Texas, United States kcomai... This time, though, I didn't want to just read about his and Lindsey's experiences. I wanted to go and see for myself. I e-mailed Dane and asked where they would be in the middle of June. He answered Thailand. Perfect! Although all the countries in SE Asia would be splendid to travel to, Thailand, in my head, was probably the most "Westener-Friendly." Not that this is what I look for in travel, but Asia is much more unfamiliar to me than any ...
