How could anything be worse than the Ball Breaker? How? And yet it was. Damn the kilometres of bog, damn the no bacon butty truck on the highway, damn the twisty part where you go around curve after curve after curve and don’t see anything ahead of you but CURVE. Then damn the “ ...
Crowden, England, United Kingdom ryanandnatasha... I was walking on. They’d paved the path with boulders?! On purpose?!
This was when my leg started coming out of its socket.
The Greedy Sheep Incident
Pennine sheep are in some parts greedy having been feed by walkers they rather expect food now. They will sneak up behind you but if you wave a stick they kind of run away and wait for you to stop paying attention again. I asked Ryan (remorseless *******) to watch ...
... raining still!
It has been a bit of a blur today, as well as the Royal Marsden we have been to Addenbrookes in Cambridge, THe Queen Elizabeth in Birmingham and now I am sitting in a cosy front room in Sheffield with a real fire!
I am excited about tomorrow as we will be going back to my home town of Newcastle. Yippee!!
I have taken a few pictures of the day.
Finally worked out my route.
Fly to Armenia, travel through Georgia to Turkey and fly from Istanbul to Mumbai. Work my way across to Calcutta and fly to Bangkok. Through Thailand and Cambodia to Vietnam, then onto China.
I am setting off early September 2010 and aim to be in China early December, maybe.
And then I have to get back...
... signs of pagan symbols painted on fabric. As they draw closer towards the monument, a few branch off here and there and create small circles while holding hands and chanting something that is completely unknown to me. This proceeds around the whole of stonehenge until there is one more group that makes the biggest circle of them all, where the main ceremony is held. Unfortunately, we could only watch part of it, as we had to leave with our tour bus to go on towards Bath.
Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom hammerheart... We take off into clear skies and head up the coast, looking down on the miles and miles of Atlantic beaches. As we near the north of Portugal it becomes misty, over Spain it is cloudy and by the time we reach southern Ireland it is dense cloud, as if a veil has been drawn over the time we have spent away. We treat ourselves to a small bottle of champagne to celebrate our final flight, accompanied by a bacon butty – oh I’m ...
Radcliffe, England, United Kingdom harryandnorah... appointment but i was told not to start trouble & head to this new address before it was to late to be seen. So i was finally seen just before 11am & told to return at 4pm to pick up my visa, so i walked to oxford street & spent the day window shopping till 3.15pm & headed back to pick up my visa. It should have cost 50pounds(if i had made an appointment) but i did not so it cost me 97pounds! What a rip off, but at least i had it as i ...
Sheffield, United Kingdom -sebastien-... of the whole trip will be our general health (good job we are getting our jabs sorted out then !) We also got both our Thailand and Vietnam visas in the post the week before last so that only leaves our US one to get sorted (as we plan to be there for more than 3 months). Things are really start to move now. Doesn't seem real yet, not sure when it will (when we step off a plane in Delhi ?!)
