... quite gruelling as tired hot and had head wind for past 35 miles. Had some jungle themed jokes from Kettie. At top there was stunning view of the salt flats. Quite breath taking. So end up in a casino ( it is Nevada) and it's huge. Bumble up all sweaty/dusty and walk through the bright lights of casino to our room. Lose an hour now as its mountain time. Pity as its breakfast at 5am for 118 mile ...

It was a warm day, and pleasant being on the road. Breakfast was 100 miles to Lovelock where we arrived too late (11 am) - apparently all restaurants in Lovelock stop serving breakfast at 11 - so it was breakfast in the RV. Then it was off to Bonneville, a place Kevin wanted to experience as he had read/heard of it many years ago in connection with land speed records being set and broken. We had researched and knew there was a meet that weekend so we thought we would see what it was all about. We drove out towards the salt that looked like miles and miles of ice glistening in the blistering heat. My heart sank as I realised that ...

Today is one of the high mileage days of our trip, driving from Brian Head UT to Salt Lake City UT, but first heading to the Bonneville Salt Flats. We were planning to get up at 800am, but we were both awake earlier so we figured we might as well get up and head north early, that would give us more spare time later in the day.
First part of the road was very much downhill: switchbacks (hairpin turns) galore, and ears continuously popping. I think we went from ...
