... when viewed from the road. I tell you, this country has totally captured, and captivated, me. SLC itself is a nice city, at the end of every road is a mountain, the streets are wide and clean and the shopping is good, but after the thrills of nature itself, (and a hunk of metal and wheels to play with) once again, the city takes a poor second place to everything else we have just experienced.
Salt Lake City nestled in the mountains is beautiful. From all angles you can view mountains with snow on the peaks. The city itself is nice, spring time so all the flowers are coming out. We spent some time walking through temple square, checking out the big churches. Mostly built in the 1800's they are quite grand. Being Easter a lot of people were heading into the churches so we never checked them out. The ...
... driving on the I-80, we are starting to experience major wind gusts, up to the point where it feels like a full blown gale. The salt flats apparently have a lot of dust on them too, as the sky is completely grey/brown with it. A couple of times the visibility is reduced to less than 1000ft.

... the main highways, but the lesser traveled state roads. A lot more scenic. Arrived in Jackson late in the afternoon. Today was a very memorable drive.
After a hearty breakfast we drove to the town square and walked around till the cold forced us back to the car. It was about minus 15c. The air is so cold your lips and cheeks sting. It was very foggy to start with, but by lunch time we had beautiful blue sky.
