... trail that looked much better traveled, hoping it would be dryer. It was for a while, but turned into a bog and swamp walk. My thoughts are if you want us to use your day parks, you should work on protecting them with proper trail features so we are not cutting through the woods, damaging vegetation and such. After slogging through the mud and such, I came to one dump of rock…hmm…not sure what that was about. The area had become more open, ...

... if you had a super power what would it be or how many counties have you been to etc. This supplied some hilarious answers and by the time we got to our first stop I knew this was going to be an awesome group. Everyone is so laid back and we have a few comedians amongst us so we're all constantly laughing. ... Auntie Denise's house in Aurora. It was a beautiful drive and we arrived at sunset. There was still some snow on the ground and it was pretty cold. The house was so beautiful like a house in a home magazine and Denise had cooked us the most delicious dinner. Nick was there and Steve and we had a really lovely evening. After catching up with them we were pretty tired from our day travelling so we collapsed into the big comfy beds. Talk to you guys soon.- Grace.

We're on the road, starting the first stretch of our trip! It is hard to leave home, but we are looking forward to all of the adventures to come. Car is packed to maximum capacity (with still being able to see out of the windows, of course). With a full tank of gas, a heavy heart, and some nervous excitement, we are off to a good start and almost to buffalo. We will make a couple of posts each day of our trip, so stay tuned!! Love always, Julia and ...

St Mary's to Phelps NY (via Niagara Falls): Distance travelled: 260 miles

There haven’t been many low points on the entire 6 weeks on the road, and certainly none that nature has served up. That was until we hit the falls at Niagara. There our spirits plummeted. Niagara was an enormous disappointment from both the American and Canadian sides. We had both seen it before (though I had only seen it mid-winter when the falls were partly frozen over and ...
