... their children’s names and dates. A good many of the markers were broken and unreadable and the church had even put up a monument to “those unidentified”. I guess some generous relatives of ours made sure the Bodenheimer’s would be visible for many years to come. Thank you, whoever you are. I know my grandmother and great-grandmother would tear up to see that headstone if they were still with us today.

Monday morning, we broke camp, said good-bye to our friends, and then headed east. We went north on SC-107 and cut over to SC-130, stopping at an overlook where we had lovely views of Lake Jocassee in the early morning light. We then took NC-281 and US-64 into Brevard, NC and then followed US-276 back into South Carolina. We were following "Bill's" planned itinerary and the GPS and this time it planned on taking the shortest route - the road became a four wheel drive only gravel road, with very limited turning and so was not the road for us towing a caravan.
