    ... tour from the roots of ‘The Mother Road’ back in the ‘20s to the present day. Well worth a visit.

    We arrived in Elk City around 3.30pm and the first thing on the cards was a dip in the cold pool at the hotel. It was 37C with a stiff breeze which is like standing with a hairdryer blowing in your face.

    ... It is a 1950's style restaurant, very Art Deco from the outside and the inside typified the Route 66 generation. Booths to sit in or open tables and plenty of decor to feast your eyes on, that's before you get your food. Staying the night in Elk City where we will see the musium in the morning before moving on.
