... 25 miles the road is preserved as it was save for a few small stretches as the concrete rolls along crossing fields and woods on the way to Hyrdo, Oklahoma. Part of the way along this stretch I took a side trip along 1920s dirt road to see the last remains of a suspension bridge that carried the original Route 66 into Bridgeport. Oklahoma is in Tornado Alley so it's a good place to base yourself to wait for storm activity. Our first chase was amazing, we saw our first Super Cell and there were chasers everywhere; even a TIV! The hail was pretty crazy, it got a little scary at times but still very exciting. No tornados this time but we will keep going till we find one, only did a few 100km's ...

... so one day I put in 86 octane and the next 88, which I hope averages out to 87. If I remember correctly, 87 is the octane in CA. Does anyone have input on whether I should be using 86 or 88 octane gas?

... it was such a relief to get to the hotel.

Out for dinner with a couple of Aussie's we had met along the way - such nice people. However, we could notn buy a drink as it was Sunday in Oklahoma and the bar was shut. So, after dinner, it was back to the hotel. The reception staff, Shawn had kindly driven us to the restaurant and then came back and collected all of us.

To Amarillo tomorrow - bring on Texas
