It was a small city/town, going about it's business, nestled in a valley between the mountains of Virginia and we felt at home here and took it easy. Tomorrow will be an early start as we set off to Washington Airport and the return of the hire car. We have booked a night in an airport hotel before our flight on Friday lunch time. ...

It's a nearly 6 hour drive to a town (or city as Americans like to call all towns) called Roanoke. We chose the place because it is located in a valley between the Smoky Mountains, the Shenandoah National Park and of course the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The journey was a lot more scenic than some as we climbed at times through the passes carved out of the rock to form ...

... mediterranean, asian, drinks, snacks and food things that kids can imagine and then some. Ryan wanted a detailed break down of a day in the life of a college student, and took lots of mental notes. Ken delighted in sharing many memories of his days of yore while in college, exchanged a bunch of amusing texts with his VT alum, and generally waked on air the whole visit.

    After dinner, we ran ...
