    ... and doors with white columns at the front entry door in the classic colonial style - gorgeous sitting on broad green lawns. There are no fences to separate properties, so everything is in a very pretty setting.

    ... at a campsite about 9 miles outside town. I had picked up the tent I had ordered that day before leaving Pearisburg, so I took the opportunity to set it up (I still needed to seam seal it, so it wasn't completely waterproof yet, but as it was Sunday and the post office was closed, I was still carrying my hammock as well, so I hung my tarp over it).     Before leaving Damascus Stealth and I thought it would be pretty cool to have a cookout at the hostel we were staying at.
