Started our road trip today. We drove out of Dallas towards Jackson, Mississippi stopping along the way for lunch at Catfish Village that serves tradition southern food. We had more than our fill of deep fried EVERYTHING.

We arrived in Jackson and enjoyed a quick self guided tour around the city. We did accidentally find ourselves in the dodgier part of town. Thank goodness for our trusty nav man. ...

The next leg of our journey today after a quick visit to Jackson. I have to say, I'm glad it was only a quick visit. The hotel, situated just outside of Jackson, was not really one of the best we've stayed at, not uncomfortable, but none the less, not great. We then continued along the road to Jackson, MS. ...

Today marked our last stop for this trip, which was the Arkansas Post National Memorial. This site is off the beaten path in eastern Arkansas; another one of those places that you have to want to go to - you're not going to stumble upon it by accident! This was the location of a important trading post for the French, Spanish, and early Americans. It is on a bayou off the Arkansas River and owed much of its significance to its location and ...

    The Night Before

... is 3 months into being 7 and Disney, to me, is nothing but an international human zoo that I would love to eternally avoid. What better trip to plan in its place than a camper drive to the least person per square mile state in the lower 48 of America. I am glad the family went for it. No Disney this year makes Daddy a happy camper. I wonder what I will pull off next year to nix Disney ...
